Regular, balanced meals are essential to maintain good health. Unfortunately, older people and those with physical or mental difficulties are not always good at (or capable of) looking after themselves in this way.
Regular meals are much better than lots of snacks
It's so easy for some people to overlook regular meals. They either find food preparation a chore, or too difficult - or they simple forget to eat. Others know they need to eat regularly, but can't be bothered to go to any trouble, so they end up eating all the wrong things, such as cakes, biscuits, chocolates, ready meals and other unhealthy choices. These are fine sometimes, as a treat, but good, healthy meals need care to plan and prepare.
Our carers who assist with shopping and meal preparation understand the importance of healthy eating, and will ensure that clients are helped to eat meals that they not only enjoy, but that also help them to become healthier.
